The NHRA POWERade Series has announced a series of bold business initiatives in the first half of 2008, and it hasn't gone unnoticed by the news media.

First, respected motorsports writer Rick Minter wrote a flattering article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution June 17 in which he stated that NHRA was "positioning itself for a growth period similar to the one NASCAR enjoyed in recent years."

Then on Monday, June 30, CNBC senior feature correspondent Mike Hegedus aired a piece on NHRA that identified the world's largest motorsports organization as one that was an "attractive" and "affordable" buy for Corporate America.

In reporting for the piece, Hegedus toured the NHRA and John Force Racing headquarters during a visit to Southern California, and he later toured one of the premier tracks on the NHRA circuit, Route 66 Raceway in Chicago. He interviewed NHRA President Tom Compton, Coca-Cola Director of Motorsports Ben Reiling, IMG Vice President of Business Development Tom Worcester, and drivers, including 2007 rookie of the year Ashley Force.
